I’ve moved

I’m now self-hosting my blog at ProbablyRachel.com. The complete transition was made in early August, so you may have missed posts and ProbablyRachel will no longer show up in your WordPress Reader or email updates.

You can resubscribe at probablyrachel.com in the box on the right sidebar.

  1. Rachel, I wanted to say thank you for being so open and forthright with your blog. It takes a lot of courage to do what you do and I especially appreciate your blog for a number of reasons. The top reason I appreciate your blog is that my mother died from diabetes two years ago at the age of 46. She did not take care of herself and it broke my heart because as an adult I couldn’t make her take care of herself. I wanted to thank you for caring for yourself and for caring about others with this disease and for being a strong voice about what it is to live with it.

About Rachel

Hi, I’m Rachel!

I’m a PR girl and social media enthusiast, blogging about life, marriage, coffee and type 1 diabetes. I like to think I’m a photographer, one with a strange obsession with orchids and anything green.

Fueled by coffee and insulin, I blog about putting down roots in Cleveland and living life.

I graduated with a BA in communications from Mount Union. I work in public relations at a marketing communications agency by day and blog about anything and everything by night.

I married high school sweetheart, Brad,  in May of 2011 and we moved to Cleveland to pursue our careers.

You Should Meet Brad…

He may not write for ProbablyRachel.com (no matter how many times I say “pretty please”)… but he does make his fair share of appearances. Along with being the most wonderful husband in my world, he’s my full time technology consultant, part time personal photographer, best taste-tester and worst fashion consultant.

What You’ll Find on ProbablyRachel.com

ProbablyRachel was started during college in response to wonderful advice to “write every day.” The blog found it’s legs in the summer of 2011 as a way to share thoughts and feelings (as well as cope with) a new diagnosis of type 1 diabetes, losing my father and taking on the many changes and challenges of adulthood.

Today, I blog about:

  • life
  • marriage
  • home ownership
  • creative projects (crafts, sewing, DIY, home improvement and decorating, as well as entertaining and cooking/baking)
  • living a “normal” life with type 1 diabetes
  • traveling

You’ll also find the occasional commentary on social media, human behavior, gardening and style, along with plenty of photos of our rescued cat brothers, Holmes and Watson.

What You Want to Find on ProbablyRachel.com

I enjoy writing and encouraging conversation, which is why you’ll find so many subjects in one place. So you tell me, what do you want to find on probablyrachel.com?

The views expressed on this blog are my own unless otherwise noted and do not reflect the views of either Brad’s nor my employers.

  1. Monster Piggy Bank

My brother is also oddly obsessed with the color green, I don’t get it, red is the obvious first choice…

  2. I like green too! Very much! :)
